Panorama Argentino is the followup release to Mirian Conti’s acclaimed 2012 recording, Nostalgias Argentinas.

Mirian Conti is a specialist in the music of Spain and Latin America and her highly regarded recordings are often referred to as benchmarks in this repertoire. As with the earlier release, the album includes many first-recordings of works inspired by the folk music and sophisticated dance forms of Argentina.

"Think Argentine music and the instruments that most readily come to mind are the bandoneón, the hand-held accordion integral to tango, and the violin. Here, to redress the balance, comes the second installment in Mirian Conti’s collection
Read more of wistful, headstrong and elegant miniatures for solo piano by 19th- and 20th-century Argentine composers, among them Carlos Guastavino, Julián Aguirre and Ángel Lasala, which Ms. Conti performs with poetry and rhythmic verve." -- New York Times

"Why are the composers of these vividly played pieces not better known? Conti's patriotic crusade is opening up pianistic vistas which are by turns beguiling and thrilling; a significant enlargement of the repertoire." -- BBC Music Magazine

"Ms. Conti’s program and her impeccable musicianship is the consummate acknowledgement of the works of such notable composers as Cayetano Troiani, Carlos Guastavino and Julian Aquirre. Her excellent performance of Troiani's absolutely charming three part suite “Motivos de la Sierra y la Llanura” incites you, dear listener to play it more than once. Later in the program, Ms. Conti's pianism explores the unrelenting lyricism beauty, solace, and vigorously romantic spirit that Carlos Gustavino imbued in his “Sonatina for Piano in G Minor.” It is - in a word - breathtaking... Ms. Conti’s playing is impulsive, colorful and precise and is the perfect example of the varied and plentiful musical landscape and rich culture that permeates her homeland. " -- Examiner.com

"These are marvelous little salon pieces. The bittersweet numbers by Remo Pignoni, distributed throughout the disc, made me think of ragtime. Enrique Albano’s “Serie Argentina” mixes nostalgia with Latin dance rhythms. Pianist Mirian Conti brings out their wit and their poignancy. The Sonatina by Carlos Guastavino had shades of Impressionism. Other composers include Angel Lasala, Julian Aguirre, Horacio Salgan, Mariano Mores, Mario Broeders and Cayetano Troiani. There is so much to like in these 30 tracks, and pianist Conti brings it out with an easy grace. I like Steinway & Sons’ explorations of the offbeat." -- Mary Kunz Goldman, The Buffalo News
Praise for Volume 1, Nostalgias Argentinas:

“Pianist Mirian Conti has dug through dusty shelves and musty books to find these neglected gems filled with yearning, painted with vivid colors, and veined through with stunning melodies. Conti’s playing is perfect. A disc to savor.” – The Absolute Sound

“Virtuoso describes the work of pianist Mirian Conti, who performs the wide range of musical styles here with infectious verve and impeccable musicianship. The recording is an object lesson in how to capture the sound of a grand piano. If all you know of Argentinian music is Astor Piazzolla, you’re in for a real treat.” – ClassicsToday.com

“Mirian Conti is the perfect interpreter of this music, Indeed, who could play it better? If you are an aficionado of solo piano music and superb pianists, this is a recording you will want to own, and one you will enjoy listing to many times over.” – Concerto.net

“Conti’s light, determined, elegant, warm-tipped touch make these 14 pieces and little suites glow and shimmer. I challenge even the stoniest heart not to be seduced.” – Musical Toronto
